Agaricus mus. (Thrice a day): Reading difficulty. Deception of colors.

Belladonna (Thrice a day): Red objects appear yellow. Blinking of the eyes.

Carboneum sulph. (Thrice a day): Black spots before eyes or sparkling before eyes. Jerking and twitching of the eyelids. Red and green look white.

Crocus sativus (Thrice a day), Calcarea carb. (Thrice a day): Blinking during and after reading.

Digitalis (Thrice a day): Yellow and blue look like white.

Euphrasia (Thrice a day): Constant blinking of the eyes due to some defect.

Gratiola off. (Thrice a day): Green objects appear white.

Hyoscyamus nig. (Thrice a day): Objects look golden.

Kalium bich. (Thrice a day): Constant blinking in epileptic attacks.

Phosphorus (Thrice a day): An excellent remedy. Usually cures color blindness.

Stramonium (Thrice a day): Red appears black and black appears grey.

NOTE: Blindness after birth can be avoided if the following four causes are treated correctly in the beginning:

  1. Cataract: This occurs with age. The lens of the eye becomes cloudy. For treatment see chapter on “Cataract”. The problem can also be corrected with a 15 minute’s operation.

  2. Trachoma: It is a bacterial infection usually occurring in hot dry climate and can be cured easily with an antiseptic washing for the face. See “Eyes”.

  3. Snow blindness: This results from the glare of sunlight upon the snow. See chapter on “Snow”.

  4. Vitamin A deficiency: This can be met with by taking doses of vitamin A.
